Random Finds

This will just be a quick and short post. It was a public holiday today, so I decided to tidy up my desk area. I bought some cute storage boxes, labels, and stickers, and then sorted through my table drawer. I decided to reorganise my knick-knacks, cards, letters, etc. by category so that they’ll be easier to find in the future.

These are some of the things I found:

^ This one came from Canada. I think it was an Etsy purchase for bunny stickers? This sticker looks like Mr. Hops! I love the art style, now if only I could find where she got it from!

^ I had the best penpal in high school. Her name was Alyona and she was from Penza, Russia. I told her I liked the Russian culture and language, and to my surprise and delight, she sent me this cute little matryoshka doll set. I usually store it fully nested, because I was scared the smaller dolls would get lost easily if I took them out. But when I found it in my drawer today, I decided to open up all the dolls and display them on my table. It occurred to me that they were meant to be seen and appreciated, after all. I’ve had this for at least 15 years now, and I’m still in awe over this little piece of culture that came to me all the way from Russia. I still hope to travel there one day!

That’s really it for the moment. I might find more stuff as I move on to organising the rest of my room.
